Dixie Baptist Church is indeed a church for the whole family. Dr. Paul Vanaman founded Dixie in August of 1954. His son, who is now our pastor, was just under two years old at the time. Growing up in this ministry, our pastor Todd Vanaman, has wonderful memories of the earliest days, and has seen God continue to provide for, and faithfully bless our church.
Like any church, we have had our heartaches, battles, and setbacks, yet the Lord has guided us through it all. Our founder always said, “We’ve had enough torpedoes shot at us to have sunk us a long time ago, but by the grace of God we’re still afloat.” Dixie Baptist Church is a testimony to God’s amazing grace.
We believe and preach the Bible, enjoy a variety of wonderful music, and incorporate ministry programs to evangelize the lost, equip believers, and edify families. We are a church family for your family. So come join us–I know that you will find your place in “the heart of Dixie.”
